Founded in 2002, the La Montaña language school in Patagonia has an experienced team and enjoys a reputation as a quality Spanish school. Besides the high-quality lessons with a focus on the individual students’ needs, La Montaña also offers a program of cultural and outdoor activities, which has been recognized by the Argentine Ministry for Tourism. Additionally, our partner school is family friendly, offering family courses, where parents and kids can learn together, as well as options for parents with young children who require babysitting.
The school is located in a prime location in a beautiful building in the historic pedestrian zone of the city and is designed following the typical alpine style of Bariloche. The bright classrooms take up two floors of the building and the small class sizes and warm atmosphere make for a perfect learning environment. The city lies directly on the shores of the beautiful lake Nahuel Huapi, which is also just a few minutes’ walking distance from the school. Also in the school’s surrounds are internet cafes, banks, bars, restaurants, and shops. There is a bus stop located nearby from which you can explore further afield. For winter sports lovers, the Cerro Catedral ski center is located just 19 kilometers away, where you can pursue your passion for skiing or snowboarding. The school also offers a special course which has fewer daily Spanish lessons so that you can spend more of your time on the slopes after school.
The team at La Montaña offers a variety of interesting activities which you can participate in for free or at a low cost. Cooking lessons, tours of the historic city, games in Spanish, movie nights and other cultural activities are part of the program. Together you will visit museums and cultural events in the city, try artisanal ice cream and of course sample the beer when visiting a local brewery. Outdoor lovers will be happy to indulge in the free hiking and trekking tours in the breathtaking natural landscapes which Bariloche is famous for.
All teachers at the school have a university degree and have taken teacher training at La Montaña as well as also having several years of experience as teachers of Spanish as a foreign language.
